CNN suggested that Steve Paddock's destruction in Vegas was caused by a brain tumor, not a psychopathic personality. It seems pretty odd that he planned it for so long though - amassing 30+ rifles. It isn't like he just "snapped". The whole thing was planned. He wanted to die famous, his disorder made it impossible for him to feel any sense of empathy. Steve Paddock's idea of morality is that everything must revolve around him and his image, even if it means murdering 50+ people to get a little fame before he dies.
"People with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) can be witty, charming, and fun to be around -- but they also lie and exploit others. ASPD makes people uncaring. Someone with the disorder may act rashly, destructively, and unsafely without feeling guilty when their actions hurt other people"
Having listened to Eric Paddock's testimony, I'd say that Steve Paddock fits this very description. He had a bank robber for a father, he's rich, he gambles money like it's worthless, he has two ex-wives, and he massacred a crowd of people for (what seems to us) like no reason. It seems that the empathy circuit in his brain had been failing since his early life.
I don't agree with the idea that Steve Paddock "snapped" or "collapsed". I doubt that he was crying and sobbing when he shot himself. More likely, he had a massive grin on his face. As for ideological motives, the problem is that he had none. He was a worthless person who gambled and had no values. Might as well have worshiped Satan.
I love the excuse that these people were "abused". More like, they were abused by parents who have the same disorder. Nothing like a psychopathic parent beating their psychopathic child, to activate the genes lmao, it's almost like they're programmed to beat their children from the moment [the children] leave the womb.
